Mustefa Abakeno | Djimmah Zone, Western Ethiopia | 2,040 masl
Mustefa Abakeno farms 18 hectares in the Djimmah Zone of Western Ethiopia at 2,040 meters, growing diverse varieties sourced from the Djimmah Research Center. His Beshasha washing station processes both his own harvest and cherries from neighboring outgrowers across four additional collection sites (Echamo, Jarso, Badeyi, and Sadi).
Half the harvest is fully washed with an 8-hour fermentation; the remainder is naturally processed and dried on raised African beds for 24–27 days. Shade netting protects the beds during peak heat, and all parchment is monitored with a Sinar moisture reader to ensure consistency before storage.
In the cup, you’ll first notice a bright orange-like citrus — vibrant but refined, not sharp. As it cools, a soft almond sweetness begins to emerge, giving the coffee a smooth, rounded body. The finish carries delicate jasmine tea aromatics — floral, lifted, and lingering with a silky texture.

It’s a coffee that moves from brightness to elegance, finishing light yet memorable.

We recommend taking your time with this one. Let it cool slightly, and you’ll experience how the layers open up — citrus, nutty sweetness, and floral tea notes working in harmony.
