What began as a conventional coffee farm in 1979 became a remarkable journey toward sustainable agriculture. After years of intensive farming, João Hamilton realized that chemical-dependent practices were damaging both the land and coffee production. In 2004, inspired by the philosophy of “Agriculture of Life,” he transformed Sitio Canaã by restoring soil health, protecting water sources, planting trees, and embracing selective harvesting with meticulous post-harvest processing.
Today, Sitio Canaã is more than a farm—it is a testament to regeneration, quality, and community. Together with FAF Coffees, João supports over 40 neighboring producers through the Serra dos Ciganos Washing Station, ensuring every lot is processed with exceptional care while preserving the land for future generations.
Tasting Notes: Mango • Black Cherry • Marshmallow
